CSUN Earns Dual Match Win Over Cal State Bakersfield to Conclude Fall Season

GOLETA, Calif. - Sophomore Nicole Tanoue fired a 1-over 73 to lead the CSUN women's golf team to a 306-317 dual match victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Wednesday at Sandpiper Golf Club.
As a team, the Matadors posted a score of 306 while the Roadrunners finished at 317.
Tanoue was the low scorer in the 14-player field, firing four birdies and nine pars in a round of 73. She finished 1-over on the front nine and even-par on the back nine to finish two shots in front of teammate Kim Turgut and CSUB's Iris Han.
CSUN had three of the top four scorers in the dual match as Turgut followed up Tanoue with a 3-over 75 to tie for second. Meghan Paracuelles tied for fourth at 6-over 78 with Gracie Piar tying for sixth at 8-over 80, and Ariya Soldwisch tying for ninth at 11-over 83.
Ellie Shirley rounded out the CSUN scoring, tying for ninth at 11-over 83 competing as an individual.

"I'm so elated we finished the season with another team and individual win. This is such a sweet end to a historic season! I couldn't be prouder of my team and how hard they worked this summer and fall. It's showing boldly! They know what to work on this winter and will come back even stronger in the spring."
