CSUN Finalizes 2025 Softball Schedule

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.— CSUN softball coach Charlotte Morgan has announced the Matadors' 2025 schedule. CSUN is coming off a 2024 campaign where the Matadors won 25 games.
"We are stoked for this upcoming season for our program. With this new freshman class, we are full of talented athletes and the new recruits fit in well with our veteran team that has competed against the best of the best," said Morgan. "Our student-athletes are hungry to get going with this season and compete to get back to the top of the conference."

The Matadors open the 2025 season in San Diego on Feb. 6 with a doubleheader. The first matchup will be against San Diego State at 1 p.m.. The next game will be against the Oklahoma Sooners at 3:30 p.m. CSUN will continue on the road with another doubleheader in Fullerton on Feb.8. The Matadors take on IU Indianapolis at 11 a.m. followed by Southern Utah at 1:30 p.m.
"We have another tough schedule this season with two competitive teams starting off on day one and we couldn't be more excited to take on this challenge." Morgan said.
On Valentine's Day, CSUN will begin its annual tournament, the CSUN Matador Classic, with a doubleheader against the University of Pacific. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m., the next game will start at noon. The tournament continues the following day against Seattle U at 10:00 a.m.. Lastly, the tournament will conclude on Sunday, Feb. 16 with a doubleheader. First matchup will be against the Redhawks at 10 a.m., followed by another game against the Tigers at 1 p.m.
CSUN will then travel to Cathedral City for the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic which will take place on Feb. 20-22 at Big League Dreams Sports Park. The Matadors are set to do battle with Oregon State and BYU on Feb 20, San Jose State and St. Marys on Feb 21, and lastly Nevada on the last day of the tournament on Feb. 22.
The tournament stretch continues as CSUN will host the CSUN Champions Classic from Feb.28 to March 2. On Friday, Feb. 28, CSUN will kick off its classic against Montana at 9 a.m. Right after that game concludes, the Matadors will square off against Fairleigh Dickenson at 11 a.m. On Saturday, March 1, CSUN will play the same teams in the same order as the previous day.
After those tournaments, the Matadors begin conference play in San Luis Obispo against Cal Poly March 7-9 in a three-game series. CSUN will then host Hawai'i in its first home conference series from March 14-15. A quick road trip then follows as the team heads up to Riverside to take on Cal Baptist for a bout on March 18.
Big West play then continues as CSUN will host Long Beach State for a three-game series March 21-22. After a week off, the Matadors hit the road again for a series against UC Riverside March 28-29.
CSUN will then travel for a single game road trip against preseason No. 5 UCLA at Easton Stadium on April 1.
The rest of the regular season games will all be Big West series. CSUN hosts UC Davis April 4-5, then travels to Cal State Fullerton April 11-12. The Matadors will then host Cal State Bakersfield April 18-19 before hitting the road against UC San Diego April 25-26.
Finally, CSUN closes out the 2025 campaign with a three-game slate against UC Santa Barbara May 2-3.
"Our senior class has paved the way for our team, and they are ready to make a statement. Every game will be played the right way and to our standard. We are eager to get started." Morgan concluded.
