2024 CSUN Women's Soccer Schedule
NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN head women's soccer coach Gina Brewer has announced the 2024 schedule featuring three NCAA Tournament teams. In the 19-match schedule, the Matadors will host nine matches this fall at Matador Soccer Field.
"We are excited about the schedule that we have put together for this fall," said Brewer who enters her first season as head coach. "We have some tough away games in Texas Tech, Denver and Oregon. We think all of our non-conference games are challenging and will help prepare us for the Big West Conference. It's going to be a fun season ahead! Go Matadors!"
CSUN will open the 2024 slate with a pair of road tests as the Matadors kick off the season at California Baptist on Thursday, Aug. 15 before heading to Lubbock, Texas to face defending Big 12 champion Texas Tech on Aug. 18. The Red Raiders are coming off an NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance last season.
The home slate begins on Thursday, Aug. 22 when CSUN faces another NCAA Tournament team from last season in Idaho at noon. A two-game homestand will conclude on Aug. 25 against LMU. CSUN will embark on a three-game road trip starting on Aug. 29 at Denver, last season's Summit League champion, followed by a meeting with Oregon in Eugene on Sept. 1. The Matadors wrap up their road trip in the State Capitol against Sacramento State on Sept. 12.
The Matadors open a season-high three-game homestand which will take the team from the end of non-conference into Big West play. CSUN opens the home stretch with North Dakota on Sept. 15 before facing San Diego on Sept. 19. The 2024 Big West opener is scheduled for Sept. 22 against Cal State Fullerton at Matador Soccer Field.
Week two of Big West play features CSUN visiting Long Beach State on Sept. 26 as well as defending Big West champion UC Irvine on Sept. 29. The Anteaters are coming off an NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2023.
CSUN has home tilts with Hawai'i on Oct. 3 and UC San Diego on Oct. 6 before returning to the road to meet UC Riverside (Oct. 13). The home schedule concludes with matches against Cal Poly on Oct. 17 and UC Santa Barbara on Oct. 20.
CSUN hits the road once more with a match at Cal State Bakersfield (Oct. 24) before concluding the regular season at UC Davis on Oct. 31.
The 2024 Big West Championship opens on Nov. 3 with first round matches followed by the semifinal round on Nov. 7 and the championship game scheduled for Nov. 10.
In 2024, CSUN returns 19 from last season's roster including 16 letterwinners while seven have been added to the roster. A total of 10 returners saw action in at least 12 matches last season with five starting at least 13 matches.Â
