CSUN Women's Soccer Releases 2026 Schedule

NORTHRIDGE. Calif.---CSUN's head women's soccer coach Gina Brewer has announced the 2026 schedule, set to kick off on Aug. 12. The reigning Big West champion Matadors will host nine games this season including six league matches at Matador Soccer Field.

The 20-match regular season schedule features two regular conference champions from last season along with three NCAA Tournament teams. In all, CSUN faces 10 teams with winning records from last season including six squads which posted double-digit victories.

"The non-conference schedule will help us prepare for what is likely going to be our toughest Big West schedule yet with Utah Valley, California Baptist and Sacramento State joining our conference," said Brewer who enters her third season with CSUN. "It will be very competitive to make the Big West tournament, but that is our goal and we look forward to the opportunity to compete this fall. Go Matadors!"

Prior to the start of the regular season, the Matadors will host Trinity Western University for the second straight season in an exhibition match on Thursday, Aug. 6.

CSUN officially opens the 2026 slate on the road by facing the defending Mountain West regular season champion Boise State on Wednesday, Aug. 12. The opening road trip concludes on Aug. 15 with the Matadors visiting Idaho.

The Matadors' home opener is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 20 with CSUN hosting Idaho State at Matador Soccer Field. From there, CSUN concludes the month of August by traveling to Grand Canyon (Aug. 27) and New Mexico (Aug. 30).

September kicks off with a pair of home matches as CSUN meets San José State on Sept. 3 and UNLV on Sept. 6. The non-conference schedule wraps up the following week with CSUN traveling to Utah Tech (Sept. 10) and Southern Utah (Sept. 13).

CSUN opens its defense of the Big West title on Wednesday, Sept. 23 against UC San Diego at Matador Soccer Field. The Matadors will then host Cal State Fullerton that weekend on Sept. 26.

A season-high three-match road trip begins on Sept. 30 with CSUN squaring off with Long Beach State. The road stretch also includes matchups with Cal State Bakersfield (Oct. 3) and UC Irvine (Oct. 10).

The Matadors face off with Big West tournament champion Cal Poly on Oct. 14 in Northridge before hosting California Baptist. The Lancers enter their first season in the Big West after winning the WAC tournament last year. A two-match road trip opens on Oct. 21 at UC Riverside followed by a contest with another new Big West team in Sacramento State on Oct. 24.

CSUN hosts UC Santa Barbara (Oct. 28) in a rematch of last year's Big West semifinal during the final week of the regular season while the finale is set for Oct. 31 against Utah Valley. The Wolverines, who enter their first season in the Big West, won the WAC regular season crown last season and earned a trip to NCAA Tournament as an at-large bid.

The Matadors are coming off a historic 2025 season, winning the program's second Big West regular season championship and first since 2016. CSUN went 8-7-5 overall and 6-1-3 in the Big West as the Matadors earned the No. 1 seed in the 2025 Big West Championship.
