An alumnus of the University, Grech has served as CSUN's Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainer since 2005; beginning his 19th year with Matador Athletics in 2024-25.

In his role he is the primary point of contact between campus and the NCAA national office and a leader of Athletics health care team. As Associate Athletics Director, Grech is the liaison with campus mental health services.
As the leader of Athletics Wellness, he oversees Mental Health awareness programs to ensure health and well-being best practices are established and achieved.
An expert in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Grech is also in his ninth season serving as a Certified Athletic Trainer Concussion Spotter for the National Football League (NFL) during Los Angeles Rams home games.
In addition to his role as Associate Athletics Director for Health and Wellness, Grech serves as the primary athletic trainer for the Matador men's basketball.
"I am grateful for the support of Shawn Chin-Farrell and Sonia Hahn and the confidence they have in my abilities and making student-athlete health and wellness a priority," said Grech. "I love being a Matador and it is pleasure to work with such fine student-athletes, coaches, support staff, and administrators on a daily basis. I plan to support and enhance the mission of CSUN Athletics by continuing in my new role to best serve student-athletes to enhance their overall health and well-being."
