CSUN Athletics Hall of Fame Nominations Open Through Oct. 1
9/18/2024 10:00:00 AM | General
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - After seven years, the Hall of Fame is back! The CSUN Athletics Department is excited to announce it is now accepting nominations for the 2025 Athletics Hall of Fame Class. Nominations will be accepted through Tuesday, October 1.
The Matador Hall of Fame recognizes the men, women, and Matador teams that have distinguished themselves in athletics, by sport or by meritorious efforts, as undergraduates or after leaving the university.
CSUN has produced a large number of talented student-athletes and administrative personnel who have contributed to the growth of the university, their sport(s) and their communities.
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics recognizes those individual efforts by providing a capstone award for distinguished careers. Established in 1981, the Matador Hall of Fame originated through the vision of then-men's athletic director, Bob Hiegert, and women's athletic director, Dr. Judith Brame. They believed the Hall of Fame would provide an excellent opportunity for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to stay in touch with its alumni and friends.
Since 1981, including the last induction class in 2018, the Matador Hall of Fame has inducted 127 outstanding members.
To be eligible, an inductee must satisfy the qualifications in one of the following sections:
