ACCORDING TO COACH JASON ZARB-COUSIN
"We came into the meet focused on improving from past years and we exceeded expectations. Both teams did a tremendous job of executing our plan to move up through the race.
On the women's side, we went through the first mile in 38th and moved up 3 spots in the next mile and a half, then another spot to the finish. Lilit Arakelyan ran an incredible race passing 63 spots from the mile to the finish leading the team while Ami Jacobson passed 73 women over that same distance and finishing second for us. Brianna Torres, Nadia Munoz and Savannah Ganter were just eight seconds apart.
On the men's side, we ran even throughout. Adam Divinity picked up 63 spots from the first mile through the 10km distance and finished as our first runner. Thomas Achten, Elijah Stenberg, Camilo Torres and Darrick Jacob, Jr. rounded out our scoring five and battled throughout to help the team maintain our position.
We have made significant progress in the last year and look to build on it for next year. Although we lose a few seniors this year, we have the pieces to continue our upward trend."
