NORTHRIDGE, Calif --- Three members of the CSUN Men's Soccer team collected All-Big West accolades on Tuesday, the league office announced. Senior defender Siddiq Lezzar made the First Team. Junior midfielder Zack Harris was named to the All-Big West second team. And lastly, defender Daniel Garcia made the All-Big West Freshman Team.

Â
A native of Houston, Texas, Lezzar was the Matadors' standout defender on a team that prided itself on its defense. Lezzar anchored the backline that allowed the fewest goals out of any Big West team with 13 on the year. Lezzar started and played in all 18 games, stacking up the most minutes on the team with 1,593 total minutes played. Lezzar in fact, played in al 90 minutes of every Big West game. The six foot senior tallied an assist in the last game of the year against UCSB, flicking a pass to Finn Werner for the goal. This is Lezzar's first ever Big West honor.
Â
Harris, hailing from Agoura Hills, collects his first Big West accolade with his performance this past season. Harris played in 17 games and started in 16 of them. Harris set the tone in the second game of the year by scoring the game winner against Oral Roberts on August 24. Harris played the full 90 minutes in five Big West games this year. In a match against Cal State Fullerton on October 22, Harris was part of a never say die effort from the Matadors, as he tallied four shots in the defeat. Harris was second on the team in shots this year with 26 total.

Â
Garcia, the freshman from Huntington Beach, Calif., was part of the staunch Matador defense this year, becoming an integral part of the backline where goals came at a premium. Garcia was a staple later on in the year, starting in four out of the last five Big West games. Garcia tallied three shots in Big West play, including one shot on goal. Garcia played the most games of any freshmen on the squad as he saw time in all 18 games. The defender also tallied two points on the year.
Â
Here are the top accolades awarded by the Big West: The Offensive Player of the Year is Mario Carlos from Cal State Fullerton. Jose de la Torre is the Midfielder of the Year out of Fullerton as well. Calle Mollerberg out of UC Santa Barbara is the Defensive Player of the Year, while Nicky McCune of Cal Poly is the Goalkeeper of the Year. Steinar Bjornsson out of UCSB is the Freshman of the Year.
