Women's Golf Fires Final Round 294, Finishes 7th at WMU Rio Verde Invitational

RIO VERDE, Ariz. - The CSUN women's golf team fired a final round 6-over 294 to post its sixth top-10 finish of the season Sunday at the Rio Verde Invitational at Rio Verde Country Club.
With team rounds of 302-302-294, CSUN finished seventh in the 21-team field at +34, 898. California Baptist (864) led from start to finish while the Lancers' Pusanisa Ekkantrong took home individual medalist honors with a 9-under total of 207.
Freshman Ariya Soldwisch was the low Matador for the second time this season, finishing 21st following a final round 3-over 75. Soldwisch was 1-over through seven holes on Sunday after a birdie at No. 11 and an eagle at No. 12. She remained at 1-over after three more birdies, the last at No. 4, before making bogey on her final two holes of the day. Soldwisch's 7-over 223 was her second-best 54-hole total of the season.

The Matadors will be off from tournament action until Mar. 10 when CSUN travels to Boulder City, Nev. for the Jackrabbit Invitational hosted by South Dakota State at Boulder City Golf Club.Â

CSUNÂ SCORES
- Following Soldwisch, Nicole Tanoue moved up to a 34th place finish after carding a 2-over 74 in the final round. After a double bogey on her opening hole, Tanoue played even-par over her final 17 holes of the day to finish in a tie for 34th at 9-over 225.Â
- Kim Turgut fired CSUN's second-lowest round of the day on Sunday, posting three birdies on her way to a 1-over 73. All three birdies came on three straight holes (12-14) where Turgut was 3-under for the round. She finished +4 over her final 12 holes to finish the day at 1-over 73 and the tournament at 12-over 228 which was 43rd in the field.
- Gracie Piar posted CSUN's low round of the day, finishing at even-par 72 after carding three birdies and 12 pars in the final round. Piar wound up tied for 43rd with Turgut and seven others at 12-over 228.
- Meghan Paracuelles rounded out the Matador scoring, tying for 76th at 18-over 234 following rounds of 76-79-79.
