NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN Water Polo's senior center Dorottya Telek was placed on the Cutino Award Watch List on Friday, as announced by USA Water Polo in collaboration with the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC). Telek becomes the first Matador in history to be named to the Cutino Award Watch List.
Telek was 1-of-20 placed on the watch list for the award, named in honor of the late Hall of Fame coach Peter J. Cutino, which recognizes the best player in men's and women's college water polo.

A three-time All-American, Telek leads the Big West this season with 91 goals and 129 points to go with shooting at an 58.7 percent clip from the field. Her 18 field blocks also top the Matadors while she ranks second in assists (38) and steals (42). With four matches remaining in the regular season, Telek is just 11 goals away from breaking her own single-season goal record she set in 2023.
In four seasons at CSUN, Telek has scored a school record 363 career goals, far surpassing the previous goal mark of 229. She has also collected 110 career assists, giving her 473 total points with the Matadors.
In addition to her three All-America honors, Telek is a three-time All-Big West honoree including a two-time All-Big West First Team selection. She also holds the CSUN record for the most Big West Player of the Week awards in school history after earning her fifth in 2025.
Telek was one-of-four Big West players to make it to the Cutino Award Watch List, joining Long Beach State's Martina Cardona, Hawai'i's Bernadette Doyle and UC Irvine's Lauren Hett.
No. 23 CSUN Water Polo continues Big West play this Saturday at No. 6 Long Beach State at noon.
