CSUN Women's Soccer Earns Team Academic Honors

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---The CSUN Women's Soccer team received College Team Academic honors from the United Soccer Coaches for the 2024-25 academic year, as announced on Aug. 1.Â
The United Soccer Coaches celebrates annually academic achievements of teams who demonstrate excellence in the classroom. To be eligible for team academic honors, the team must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher for the academic year.Â
The Matadors registered an impressive 3.52 team grade point average in head coach Gina Brewer's first season leading the program. During the 2024-25 year, a total of 20 Matadors were placed on the Big West Commissioner's Honor Roll while 11 received Big West Fall All-Academic Team honors.Â
A total of 697 soccer teams posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher including 414 women's soccer teams.
CSUN Women's Soccer will take the field for the first time this fall on Thursday when the Matadors host Trinity Western University in an exhibition match at Matador Soccer Field with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
The Matadors officially open their 2025 season on the road on Thursday, Aug. 14 against Saint Mary's while their regular season home opener is set for Aug. 21 against Grand Canyon at 7 p.m.Â
