Piar in Top 20, CSUN Sixth After Two Rounds of Bruin Wave Invitational

VALENCIA, Calif. - Senior Gracie Piar opened the Bruin Wave Invitational with rounds of 71-74 and is tied for 15th after two rounds on Monday at Valencia Country Club.
As a team, CSUN posted rounds of 296-302 on Monday and is alone in sixth place in the 14-team field. Top-ranked Stanford leads the team competition at 15-under 561, eight shots better than No. 12 UCLA (569).
Piar got off to a great start, firing six birdies in an opening round 1-under 71, her fifth under-par round of the season. She was 2-under after consecutive birdies on No. 8 and No. 9, before finishing her final 11 holes at 1-over. Piar added four more birdies in round two, finishing the day at 2-over for the round and 1-over on the day. She heads into Tuesday's final round just two shots out of the top 10.

CSUNÂ SCORES
- Ariya Soldwisch and Kim Turgut each finished the day at 8-over 152 and are among four players tied for 30th. Soldwisch had four birdies in round one, finishing at 3-over 75. She added two more birdies - along with 10 pars - in a second round 5-over 77. Turgut played largely error-free golf in round one, finishing at 1-over 73 with two birdies, 14 pars, one bogey, and one double bogey. She added one bogey in round two, but also had eight bogeys in a round of 7-over 79.
- Meghan Paracuelles is tied for 34th at 9-over 153 after posting a 5-over 77 in the opening round and a 4-over 76 in round two.
- Nicole Tanoue rounded out the CSUN scoring, tying for 42nd at 10-over 154 following rounds of 79-75.
