Santa Clara Turns Back CSUN, 4-1

SANTA CLARA, Calif. --- The CSUN women's tennis team (4-3) dropped a 4-1 decision to the Santa Clara Broncos (3-6) on Thursday at the Degheri Tennis Center. Emma Moratalla Sanz earned the lone singles point for the Matadors.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Broncos secured the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. The tandem of Daniella Dimitrova and Anna Rahman defeated Sandra Arguelles and Moratalla Sanz, 6-0, at Court No. 2. Lizanne Boyer and Juliette Krumholz clinched the point with a 6-4 victory over Satsuki Ishikawa and Madison Shepperson on Court No. 3. The No. 1 doubles match went unfinished.

In singles play, Santa Clara extended its lead with straight-set victories on Court No. 6 and Court No. 4. Juliette Krumholz topped Shepperson, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 6 before Anna Rahman earned a 6-3, 6-4 win over Tallia Harper at No. 4.

CSUN got on the board at Court No. 3, where Moratalla Sanz posted a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Tian Yu Dong.Â

Lastly, Santa Clara clinched the match at Court No.1 between both school's best players.Â

Daniella Dimitrova defeated Angela Ho in three tightly contested sets, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1.
