Turgut Finishes Third to Pace CSUN at MSU SoCal Spring Invitational

CAMARILLO, Calif. - Senior Kim Turgut matched her best tournament finish of the season, placing third to lead the CSUN Women's Golf team to a third-place finish at the conclusion of the MSU SoCal Spring Invitational Classic on Tuesday at Sterling Hills Golf Club.
Turgut, who began the day tied for third following a blistering 6-under 65 on Monday, posted four birdies and nine pars in the final round to close out a round of 1-over 72. She made the turn at 1-under before finishing 2-over on the back nine to finish the tournament at 2-over 215 (78-65-72). Turgut matched her third-place finish at the Yellowstone IntercollegiateÂ
As a team, CSUN (+28, followed up its school record 8-under 276 in round two with a final round 15-over 299 to finish third in the 15-team field at 880. Nebraska (+10, 862) claimed the team title by 13 shots over Notre Dame (875).

- Fellow senior Gracie Piar and junior Nicole Tanoue also finished in the top five in the 90-player field, tying for fifth at 4-over 217.
- Piar, who also fired a 6-under 65 in round two, finished the final round with four birdies and eight pars in a round of 3-over 74 for her fifth top 10 showing of the season. Tanoue notched her fourth top 10 finish after following up rounds of 73-71 over the first two rounds with a 2-over 73, which included one birdie.
- Lily McGowan, competing as an individual, followed up rounds of 80-75 with a final round 10-over 81, which also included one birdie. McGowan wound up tied for 64th at 23-over 236
- Sophomore Ariya Soldwisch finished tied for 68th after posting four birdies in a final round 9-over 80. Soldwisch carded scores of 82-75-80 to finish at 24-over 237.
- Meghan Paracuelles wound up 73rd at 27-over 240 after carding rounds of 76-82-82.
