Women's Golf in Eighth After Two Rounds of Jackrabbits Invitational

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The CSUN Women's Golf team carded rounds of 312-302 for a two-round total of 614, which has the Matadors in eighth place after two rounds of the Jackrabbits Invitational on Monday at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
Individually, freshman Sophie Cook is the low Matador player after two rounds, posting scores of 73-75 on Monday. Cook, competing as an individual, had five birdies over two rounds and is tied for 18th at 4-over 148. Senior Gracie Piar is the low player in the CSUN lineup as she is tied for 25th at 5-over 149. Piar notched a pair of birdies in round one, finishing at 3-over 75 before adding four birdies in a 2-over 74 in the second round.
At 38-over 614, CSUN is eighth in the 10-team field. UNLV (568), the only team under par, carries a nine-shot lead over Morehead State (577) in the team competition.Â

- Following Cook and Piar, junior Nicole Tanoue is tied for 31st at 7-over 151. Tanoue had three birdies in an opening round 4-over 76, before adding one birdie in round two's 3-over 75.
- Senior Kim Turgut opened with a 10-over 82 in the opening round, before recording three birdies in round two to finish at 3-over 75. Turgut finished the day tied for 46th with teammate Lily McGowan. McGowan had a pair of birdies in round one, finishing at 7-over 79, before posting a 6-over 78 in round two.
- Meghan Paracuelles rounded out the CSUN scoring, currently in 61st place at 25-over 169 following rounds of 83-86.
