NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN Men's Basketball's senior guards Josiah Davis and Larry Hughes II were placed on the Pacific All-District Second Team on Tuesday by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).Â

A native of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, Davis took over point guard duties in his first season with the program and went on to accomplish one of the most prolific seasons in team history. Davis collected Big West Player of the Year, Big West Newcomer of the Year and All-Big West First Team honors after leading the conference and ranking in the top five in assists in the nation. Davis finished the campaign with 253 total assists and an average of 7.4 per game, which ranks third and fifth in the nation, respectively. His 253 helpers are the second-most recorded in a single season in program history. Davis also tied our single-game record for assists, totaling 15 dimes in two separate games.Â
On the scoring side, Davis ranked eighth in the Big West by averaging a career-high 15.9 points per game. Hughes was the Matadors' top scorer all season, registering a career-high 17.7 points per game. His scoring average was fourth-best in the Big West while the sharpshooter was the conference leader in 3-point field goals made (101) and three-point field goals made per game (3.1). Hughes' 101 made threes were the third-most scored for a season in CSUN history.Â
Overall, Hughes scored in double figures in 29 of 33 games, highlighted by a career-high 34 points in the Matadors' Big West quarterfinal victory over UC San Diego on March 12. Hughes reached 20 points or more 12 times and 30 points or more in two games this season.Â
