Women's Golf Tied for Sixth After Opening Round of MSU SoCal Spring Invitational

CAMARILLO, Calif. - Junior Nicole Tanoue is tied for sixth, as is the CSUN Women's Golf team after the opening round of the MSU SoCal Spring Invitational Classic on Sunday at Sterling Hills Golf Club.
After making the turn at 4-over, Tanoue made bogey at No. 10 before finishing 3-under - including three birdies - over her final eight holes to close the day at 2-over 73.Â
As a team, the Matadors finished round one at 21-over 305, which was good for a sixth-place tie in the 15-team field. Nebraska finished the first round at 11-over 295 to lead the team competition, and five players share the individual lead at 1-over 72.

- Following Tanoue, Meghan Paracuelles is tied for 21st at 7-pver 76, also posting three birdies in round one.Â
- Seniors Gracie Piar and Kim Turgut are each tied for 40th at 7-over 78, Turgut also posting three birdies in the opening round.
- Sophomore Ariya Soldwisch is currently 66th at 11-over 82 and Lily McGowan, competing as an individual, is 56th at 9-over 80.
