Emma Moratalla Sanz Collects Big West Player of the Week Honors

NORTHRIDGE, Calif --- CSUN women's tennis player Emma Moratalla Sanz has collected her first Big West Player of the Week award, as the league office announced its weekly awards on Wednesday. Moratalla Sanz was a big reason why CSUN went 2-0 last week in Big West play.

At doubles against the Beach, Moratalla Sanz and Sandra Arguelles earned a 7-5 win over Thea Jagare and Pamela Badillo to clinch the doubles point.

Moratalla Sanz capped off the team victory for CSUN with another three-set comeback, defeating Carling Allaye-Chan, 1-6, 7-5, 6-4, on Court No. 2. The senior from Valencia, Spain dropped the first set and was down 4-1 in the second set and came back to earn the win.

Moratalla Sanz leads the team with a 15-3 record this season, and is currently on a three-match winning streak.

The Matadors look to continue their winning streak when they travel to UC Santa Barbara to take on the Gauchos on Friday April 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Arnhold Tennis Center.
