6/30/2026 2:27:00 PM | General
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- 260 CSUN student-athletes were named to the 2025-26 Big West Commissioner's Honor Roll, announced by the conference office. A total of 2,734 student-athletes from 11 institutions across all 21-conference sponsored sports were named to the list.
To be recognized on the Big West Commissioner's Honor Roll, student-athletes must be on a roster in a Big West-sponsored sport and be eligible for competition. The honor roll features three categories based on grade-point average: Honor Roll (3.00-3.20), With Honors (3.21-3.50), and Highest Honors (3.51-4.00). The Faculty Athletics Representatives from each of the 11 Big West institutions submitted their lists to the conference office.
Of the 260 student-athletes recognized, 133 received the highest honors, while 81 were with honors, followed by 46 on the honor roll.
Since the 2022-23 academic year, the total awardees on the Commissioner's Honor Roll has increased by 469 student-athletes (nearly 21 percent) from 2,265 to 2,734. Big West Commissioner Dan Butterly commented, "The Big West Commissioner's Honor Roll reflects one of the defining strengths of our conference—that academic achievement remains a cornerstone of the student-athlete experience. We proudly celebrate these 2,734 student-athletes who have demonstrated exceptional discipline, perseverance and commitment in balancing the demands of Division I competition with excellence in the classroom. Their accomplishments speak not only to their individual dedication, but also to the unwavering support provided by our member institutions, coaches, faculty and academic support staffs. We congratulate each of these outstanding student-athletes for setting a standard of excellence that extends far beyond the field of play."
UC San Diego had the most awardees in the conference with 353, with 190 receiving highest honors. UC Santa Barbara (327), UC Davis (290), Hawai'i (287) and CSUN (260) rounded out the top five. UC Irvine (255), UC Riverside (222), Long Beach State (216), and Cal State Fullerton (203) also eclipsed the 200-honoree threshold.
