NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — California State University, Northridge (CSUN) Athletics is proud to announce a new three-year partnership with Kaiser Permanente, naming the health care organization as the "Official Health Care Partner" of CSUN Athletics.
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to health, wellness, community engagement and enhancing the student-athlete experience.
"Partnering with Kaiser Permanente represents an exciting opportunity for CSUN Athletics," said Ryan Swartwood, director of athletics. "Their longstanding commitment to improving the health and well-being of our communities makes them an ideal partner as we continue to invest in the success of our student-athletes and create meaningful experiences for our fans, including our alumni community."
Through this partnership, Kaiser Permanente will engage with the CSUN community through select athletics events and campus activities that promote health, wellness and connection. The organization also will have a presence at The Soraya, one of the San Fernando Valley's premier cultural performing arts venues, extending its reach beyond athletics into broader community experiences.
"CSUN represents the heart of the San Fernando Valley, and this partnership reflects our commitment to being present where our communities live, learn, and come together," said Murtaza Sanwari, senior vice president and area manager, Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills and West Ventura. "It's an opportunity to bring our mission to life in meaningful, visible ways."
The partnership will create opportunities to connect with students, alumni and community members throughout the year, supporting both organizations' shared focus on building healthier communities and strengthening meaningful engagement across the Valley.Â
"What makes this partnership special is how it brings people together," said Camille Applin-Jones, senior vice president and area manager, Kaiser Permanente Panorama City and Antelope Valley. "It creates opportunities for employees and physicians to represent Kaiser Permanente with pride, connect with the community, and support health and well-being beyond our medical centers."
"We are proud to welcome Kaiser Permanente as the Official Health Care Partner of CSUN Athletics," said Will Carter, general manager of Matador Sports Properties. "Kaiser Permanente has a longstanding reputation for medical excellence, innovation, and community impact, making it an ideal partner for the Matadors, and we look forward to the positive impact we can make together."
The relationship was facilitated by Matador Sports Properties, the locally based team of Learfield — the leading media and technology company powering college athletics — which serves as the exclusive multimedia rights holder for CSUN Athletics and oversees all sponsorship agreements on behalf of the Matadors.
The partnership begins immediately and will continue through June 2029, reinforcing both organizations' commitment to fostering healthier communities and supporting the leaders of tomorrow.
