COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The CSUN Men's Golf team carded a team final round of 300 as junior Freddie Carcamo finished his first event as the low Matador scorer to close out Air Force's Gene Miranda Invitational on Monday at Eisenhower Golf Course.

After opening with a 2-under 70 In his CSUN debut on Saturday, Carcamo finished at even-par 72 in round two on Sunday. before closing with a 3-over 75 on Monday. With all pars on the front nine, he made the turn at even-par before getting to 1-under after three holes on the back nine. Carcamo would finish 4-over on his final six to finish tied for 32nd at 1-over 217.

After posting team rounds of 288-298 over the first two rounds, the Matadors slipped from 14th to 16th following a final round 300. Colorado took the team title at 30-under 834, while Wyoming's Brody Leid claimed individual medalist honors at 9-under 207.

CSUN SCORES

Following Carcamo, Tavin Boman tied for 37th at 2-over 218 following rounds of 78-68-72. Boman notched a team-high four birdies in the final round to finish at even-par 72.
Junior Bryson Barnes tied for 48th at 4-over 224 following rounds of 74-73-73.
Senior Ethan Posthumus tied for 85th at 15-over 231 following rounds of 76-75-80.
Junior Brecht Hulsman finished 90th at 28-224 after posting scores of 82-82-80.
A trio of Matadors competed in the individual tournament with senior Liam Judkins finishing fifth at 6-under 210 (71-69-70), sophomore Mason Ho tying for 17th at 5-over 221 (76-74-71), and senior Dillon Jonke finishing 20th at 6-over 222 (73-77-72).

HEAD COACH JIM BRACKEN SAID
"We just didn't get a fourth score today. Overall, we got some decent rounds out of some guys in the first event of the year. The three guys not in the lineup got some competition in the individual tournament, so any time you can compete when the flag is up is valuable."
