Derek Arias is in his first season as a team manager to the men's basketball team in 2021-22.
A San Fernando Valley native, Arias was an Honor Roll student and played basketball at John F. Kennedy High School in Granada Hills. He was a member of the school's varsity team that reached the 2018 city finals.
After graduating, Arias played basketball for Los Angeles Valley College and earned Dean's List honors. He also helped the Monarchs win the 2019 conference championship.
Arias is currently pursuing his bachelor's degree in business administration management at CSUN.
