Victor Garcia enters his 12th year as a member of CSUN Men's Soccer staff in 2024, and his third as the associate head coach after receiving the promotion in Feb. 2022.
Garcia has spent six years as an assistant coach with the Matadors after previously serving in multiple roles on the staff. In 2020, Garcia took over lead assistant coach and recruiting coordinator duties to the team. His recruiting efforts resulted in his 2020 class being ranked 24th nationally by TopDrawerSoccer.com. His other responsibilities for the Matador program include day to day operations and on the field duties, scheduling, and performance analysis (film editing, visualizations and presentations of individual, team and opponent).
Prior to becoming an assistant coach on the CSUN staff, he served as the director of soccer operations from 2014-17. He also spent the 2013 season as a volunteer undergraduate assistant and director of film with the program.
With Garcia on the sidelines, the Matadors have advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2013 and 2016 while CSUN has competed in the Big West tournament seven times.
Prior to coming to CSUN, Garcia was the head coach at John Marshall High School. He led the squad to a 2010 league title, the first in school history, and three playoff appearances. His team won 2013 NPL National Championship and was a Dallas Cup Semifinalist.
Garcia has served as video analyst for the Salvadorian Men's National Team beginning in 2021. In his role with the Salvadorian program, he participated in the 2022 Concacaf Octagonal World Cup qualifiers and was part of a Salvadorian club that was a 2022 U20 Uncaf finalist.
He coached LAFC So Cal (formerly Real So Cal) U17 team to a playoff appearance in 2021 and Surf Cup Championships in 2017 and 2022.
Victor, wife Jenny, and son Mathias reside in Los Angeles, Calif.
