Kennedi Sorensen is in his second season as a student assistant coach for CSUN Softball during the 2024 season.
Sorensen played for CSUN in 2022, starting all 54 games, playing all but 26 innings of the season at catcher. She led team and was 14th in the Big West in RBI with 28. Sorensen recorded eight games of two or more RBI with a season best four coming against UC Santa Barbara in the season finale on May 14 when she hit a grand slam home run. Sorensen was the team leader and ninth in the conference in walks (20). She was second on the squad and tied for 13th (with four others) in the Big West in home runs with five. Sorensen was second on the club in at-bats (154) and recorded 35 hits (.224 batting average).
Sorensen became a Matador after playing for two seasons at UC Riverside where she led the Highlanders in RBI (16), doubles (11), and total bases (43) in 2021. She began her collegiate career at NM State where she played 36 games over two seasons and drove in seven runs.
