Sheeley came to CSUN after five seasons as an assistant coach at Wichita State. In 2014, Sheeley helped lead the Shockers to the Missouri Valley Conference Regular Season Championship. The 2014 season also saw the first no-hitter by a Wichita State pitcher since the 2006 season. In her time at Wichita State, Sheeley oversaw a pitching staff that demonstrated signifigant improvement in each of her seasons, especially in the team's overall ERA.Â
Before working at Wichita State, Sheeley spent three seasons at Winona State. During her three years at Winona State, Sheeley helped guide Winona State’s pitching staff to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including one Division II World Series appearance. She also helped some of her student-athletes earn All-NSIC honors, CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, Daktronics All-North Central Region honors and All-America honors.
Sheeley also played two seasons of professional softball. She helped the Rockford Thunder win the National Professional Fastpitch Championship in 2009, and also played for the Tennessee Diamonds in 2010.
Prior to her stint at Winona State, Sheeley had a successful playing career in the circle for Emporia State for two seasons. In 2008, Sheeley went 31-8 with a 1.49 ERA. Sheeley also had scoreless inning streaks of 25 and 24 innings on the season, capped by an appearance in the NCAA Division II World Series.
Sheeley was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American team and also earned all-region honors. She was a two time first-team All-MIAA selection and was named conference Pitcher of the Year in 2008. After competing in the World Series, she was named to the National Championships All-Tournament team for her performance.
Sheeley graduated from Emporia State University in 2008 with a degree in Education and Counseling. She received her Master’s Degree in Counselor Education from Winona State in 2011.
