The Huskers were the 2001 Big 12 Champions and the 2000 Big 12 Tournament Champions with Schweikert in the dugout and appeared in two Sweet 16 rounds. The Huskers’ staff was named the 2001 NFCA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year.
Â
Schweikert's NCAA coaching career began at her alma mater in August 1996. The Mizzou alum coached the Tigers' first first-team All-American (Barb Wright) and led the team to both the 1997 Big 12 regular season and tournament championships. Schweikert and her peers were selected as the 1997 Big 12 Staff of the Year and the 1997 Midwest Region Staff of the Year.
Â
After graduating from Missouri in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Schweikert coached at Parkview High School in Springfield, Mo. (1985-91) and Hopkins High School in Hopkins, Minn. (1991-96).
