Jake Berkowitz, an alumnus of San Diego State University, enters his second year as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at CSUN in 2016-17. He works with the CSUN softball team.

Berkowitz graduated cum laude from San Diego State University (2015) with a degree in Athletic Training. In 2014, he was awarded The Bill Buhler Memorial Scholarship by the National Athletic Trainer Association Research and Education Foundation and he served two semesters as the Director of Communication for the Future Athletic Trainers’ Society while at SDSU.

As an undergraduate athletic training student, Berkowitz was assigned to both the University of San Diego and Cuyamaca College. During his clinical experience he worked with a variety of sports, including football, men’s and women’s soccer, track & field and men’s and women’s basketball.

Berkowitz is currently working on his Master's Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Biomechanics, looking to graduate in Spring 2017. He has been a certified Emergency Medical Technician for the past six years.
