Jaymi Steward will begin her first season as the Director of Player Development in 2023.

Steward capped off a five-year Matador playing carer in 2022 by being named first team All-Conference. She hit .363, the eighth-highest in the Big West during the 2022 campaign.

She led the team in hitting (.306), home runs (6), RBI (27), runs (32), doubles (10), slugging percentage (.471), on-base percentage (.389), and stolen bases (18). Steward tied the school Division I school record for most stolen bases in a game (with five others) when she stole three against Southern Utah on Feb. 19. Her 18 stolen bases are tied for the eighth most in a season by a CSUN player at the Division I level with Jennifer Mosier (2010). Steward proved to be durable as she started 113 consecutive games (180 total, 141 starts) to end her career (dating back to Apr. 27, 2019, at UC Santa Barbara).

She was named honorable mention All-Conference as a redshirt junior after leading the team and finishing 10th in the league in home runs (5).

Steward was a three-time Academic All-Conference selection.
