Garrett Yamasaki opens his sixth season with the CSUN Beach Volleyball program in 2022. In his time on the CSUN campus, Yamasaki has helped the Matadors to 54 wins in five seasons.

e junior level to NCAA Division I.
In his second campaign with the CSUN Beach Volleyball program (2018), Yamasaki served as an integral part of the coaching staff that helped lead the Matadors to their most successful season program history. Now in his fourth season with the CSUN Beach program, he looks to continue on the
success that has been set forth with developing it’s refreshed program.
From 2013-2016, Yamasaki worked as the head coach for Loyola Marymount’s Men’s Club Volleyball program. In two seasons, he helped lead the Lions from an unranked national position to making LMU history by breaking into the NCVF Top 10 National Ranking while leading the squad to their first Sweet 16 appearance in the 2015 NCVF National Championships. Yamasaki was additionally a 2015 NCVF Coach of the Year nominee.
In 2015, Yamasaki partnered with 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist, Dain Blanton in founding the 310 Beach Volleyball Academy, a juniors-focused high performance beach volleyball training group based in Santa Monica, California. Blanton states, “Garrett is an impressive teacher of the sport who always gets the very best from the players he works with.”

Yamasaki takes great pride in his return to his alma mater. He is a graduate of CSUN, earning his bachelor's degree in psychology and resides in Los Angeles with his wife Zabie, his son Hudson, and their dog Jack.
