Dan Solli, a coaching veteran at the collegiate and academy level, enters his fifth season as an assistant coach to the CSUN Women's Soccer team in 2026-27. Solli serves as the Matadors' goalkeeper coach and helps with recruiting efforts.
Solli helped CSUN reach the top of the Big West in 2025, winning the program's second regular season championship. CSUN would go 6-1-3 in conference play and earn the No. 1 seed in the Big West Championship, returning to the conference tournament for the first time in six seasons. The Matadors also notched their first winning season since 2019 with an 8-7-5 overall record.Â
Solli helped mentor goalkeeper Riley Liebsack to nine shutouts during the 2025 campaign to rank second in the Big West and 24th overall in the nation. Liebsack recorded seven straight clean sheets to open Big West play, tying a school record. She also finished with 71 saves and a 0.79 goals-against-average for the year.Â
In 2024, Solli helped the Matadors improve their win total by four games as CSUN played for a postseason spot until the final day of the regular season. The Matadors also notched their most wins and conference wins since the 2019 season. During the year, Solli guided Liebsack to 100 saves for the year, becoming just the fifth Matador in team history to reach triple digits for a season.Â
Also during his time with CSUN, Solli has mentored Hayden Mauldin, who has earned Big West Defensive Player of the Week awards twice in her career and led the Big West in saves per game (5.22) in 2023.
Prior to arriving at CSUN, Solli served as volunteer assistant coach and goalkeeper coach for the Seton Hall men's soccer team under Andreas Lindberg since 2019. He helped the Pirates win the Big East Tournament title in 2020, the program's first in 29 years. Seton Hall also advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals that season. For his efforts, Solli was honored as part of the East Region Coaching Staff of the Year and Big East Coaching Staff of the Year. Solli worked with goalkeeper Andreas Nota, who earned All-Big East Second Team honors and finished the 2020 campaign with a 0.85 GAA.
Solli has served as a seasonal staff coach with the New York Red Bulls since 2012, implementing seasonal development plans for all teams, executing weekly training sessions and coaching teams in matches, while also completing analysis reports. With the Red Bulls, he has been a goalkeeper coach of youth from various age groups from U-12 to U-19 while he also worked as a regional coordinator from 2017-21.
Â
Additionally, Solli had a two-year stint as an assistant women's soccer coach at Fordham University from 2014-16 while he served a similar role at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in 2011. Solli would also work with youth, 18 and under, for the Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club from 2010-11.
Aside from his coaching, Solli has been a certified referee for the Staten Island Youth Soccer League since 2004, and has been selected to referee US Soccer development academy matches and ODP Region 1 tournaments.
Â
During his playing career, Solli played for National Premier Soccer League's Brooklyn Italians (2010-11), as well as for Roza FC (2009-10) and Union Latina SC (2009-10).
Â
Solli is a 2010 graduate of Seton Hall University with a degree in Journalism and Public Relations. He holds a U.S. Soccer Federation National "B" coaching license and a United Soccer Coaches national goalkeeping diploma.
