PERSONAL
Daughter of Gary and Izabella Dermenjyan … favorites include the Los Angeles Kings, Roger Federer, Gregory Peck, Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Peaky Blinders, The Crown, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Roman Holiday, Led Zeppelin, Blondie, Rollin Stones, Nirvana, AC/DC, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash, and Frank Sinatra … chose CSUN because of its great campus and amazing coaches, felt the team had a great bond and is always pushing each other to do better every day … says greatest sports moment so far is getting to play the junior Orange Bowl in Florida, getting to the finals of an ITA tournament, and winning junior USTA tournaments … says the best thing about being an athlete is that it teaches you a lot of important life skills, you learn to be disciplined and committed when it comes to achieving your goals and how to handle high pressure situations, you have a good support system, band being able to build good relationships with your coaches and teammates constantly motivates you and pushes everyone to be better … says the toughest thing about being an athlete is the expectation, whether you put it on yourself or feel it from the people around you, it can be hard to deal with from time to time, the feeling of trying your hardest and not being able to come out with the win can also be difficult to deal with, another tough factor would be injuries, many times, athletes push themselves to play through pain and injuries, but it can be frustrating knowing you're not able to perform … the most famous people she has met are Roger Federer, Wolfgang Puck, and Wayne Gretzky … the two people she would like to have dinner with are Wolfgang Puck and Anthony Bourdain … the best advice she has been given is that here's a lot of good waiting for you on the other side of tired … her greatest hero is her mom because she is her friend and biggest supporter.Â
