Melissa Katherman enters her thirs year with the CSUN Sports Medicine team as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2019-20. She serves as the primary athletic trainer for water polo and assists with men’s soccer.

Katherman is originally from La Verne, Calif., where she attended The University of La Verne receiving her Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training. While attending La Verne, she gained experience working with the Leopards' Track and Field, Cross Country, Volleyball, Baseball and Football teams. During her last semester of the Athletic Training Program, she expanded her experience by working in a rehabilitation clinic.

Katherman is pursuing her Master’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology.Â
