Lindsey Foster joined the CSUN women's basketball program as an assistant coach prior to the start of the 2010-11 season. She was promoted to Associate Head Coach before the start of the 2014-15 season. On Apr. 20, 2020, she was named head coach.
As a member of the Matador staff, Foster helped guide CSUN to three NCAA Tournament appearances, three Big West Tournament titles, one Big West Conference regular season championship, and 150 victories.
Before arriving at CSUN, Foster was an assistant coach at UC Riverside from 2004-10. As an assistant coach at UCR, Foster helped elevate the Highlanders to one of the top collegiate women's basketball programs in the Western United States.
In six seasons as an assistant coach, UC Riverside enjoyed five winning seasons including a school record 21 wins in 2006-07, three trips to the NCAA Tournament, one journey to the women's NIT, and three championships at the Big West Tournament. In the last two seasons alone (2008-09, 2009-10), UC Riverside produced 36 wins, 25 victories in Big West competition, two post-season berths, and six all-conference players including the 2009 Big West Conference Player of the Year.
Foster graduated from Northern Arizona University (NAU) in 2004 with a degree in Health Promotion, an emphasis in Secondary Education and a minor in Biology.
Foster played basketball Northern Arizona. Upon her graduation, she was NAU's all-time leader in career assists, steals, and free throw percentage (.818). Foster's name appears in Northern Arizona's Top-10 in 14 other categories. A four-year starter and letter winner, Foster gained Big Sky Conference Honorable Mention honors twice. She was also a four-time Golden Eagle Scholar from 2000-03. She began her coaching career at NAU as an undergraduate assistant coach during the 2003-04 season. Foster, her spouse, and their daughter reside in Chatsworth, Calif.
