Bob LoPresti was inducted into the CSUN Athletics Hall of Fame in 1983. LoPresti was a four-year letterwinner, playing for Hall of Fame coach Bob Hiegert from 1970-73.Â
LoPresti was a member of CSUN's first National Championship team in 1970, along with the top pitcher on the team's 1972 NCAA runner-up finish. Over his four-year career with the Matadors, LoPresti posted an impressive 32-7 record on the mound to go with a 2.39 ERA and 20 complete games. He is the school's record holder in wins while he ranks second in innings pitched (335.2) and third in ERA. Overall, he is ranked in seven different career and season top-10 lists in school history.Â
LoPresti was a three-time CCAA Most Valuable Pitcher and three-time All-District VIII selection over his exceptional Matador career. In 1972, LoPresti earned All-American accolades following a dominant year on the mound. He would hold a 12-2 record with 11 total complete games over 18 appearances.Â
During his time at CSUN, LoPresti helped CSUN win four CCAA titles and advance to the postseason each season. The Matadors would also win a then-school-record 43 games in his junior season in 1972.
LoPresti graduated from CSUN with his bachelor's degree in 1973.
