NORTHRIDGE, CA - CSUN wrapped up the non-conference portion of the 2015 schedule Saturday as the Matadors fell in their final match of the Days Inn and Suites Lobo Invitational in Albuquerque, NM.

LIU Brooklyn picked up its first win of the season, defeating CSUN 25-21, 25-11. 19-25, 25-14. The Matadors will open Big West Conference play next Friday with a record of 1-11.

Senior Cieana Stinson led CSUN with 11 kills but hit .024 on 42 attacks. Stinson also had three of CSUN's four solo blocks in the loss. Nada Dragovic added eight kills (.154) and 13 digs and Aeryn Owens chipped in seven kills (-.051) and eight digs. Four Matadors had double figures in digs led by Katie Sato's 24. Setter Erin Indermill notched another double-double with 26 assists and 10 digs.

CSUN trailed by as many as five points in the opening set before a 5-0 Matador run erased a 19-15 LIU lead. A kill from Owens put CSUN in front 20-19 but the Matadors surrendered the final six points and dropped the set 25-20.

After being out-hit by the margin of .500--.074 in the second set, CSUN went down two sets following a 25-11 loss. The Matadors put together their best offensive effort of the night in set three as CSUN hit .190 and won 25-19.

Trailing 12-10 in the fourth, the Matadors watched as the Blackbirds went on a 7-1 run to take control 19-11. CSUN could only get withing six points the rest of the way as LIU Brooklyn won going away 25-14.

Jiayi Zhang and Tamara Ignjic led the Blackbird (1-9) with 10 kills.

CSUN opens Big West play Friday against UC Irvine next Friday (Sept. 25) and will also take on UC Davis on the homestand.
