First Round 312 Has CSUN Fifth at Lady Mustang Intercollegiate

NORTHRIDGE, CA - The CSUN women's golf team opened the Lady Mustang Intercollegiate with a team round of 312 and is in fifth place heading into the final round at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande, CA.
The Matadors, led by sophomore Ysabel Tran, trail fouth-place Cal Baptist by two shots and third-place Northern Colorado by just four. Cal Poly and Santa Clara share the team lead at two-over 290.
Tran is the one of two CSUN players in the top 10 as she fired a two-over 74 on Saturday and is alone in ninth place. The CSUN sophomore tied for the round one lead with 14 pars. Junior Shenna DeLeon is also in the hunt as she is tied for 10th at three-over 75. At four-under 68, Santa Clara's Kristin Le carries a one-shot lead over Cal Poly's Jamie Harada into Sunday's final round.
Also for the Matadors on Saturday, Freshman Alice Duan is tied for 28th at eight-over 80, freshman Brianna Steger is tied for 44th at 11-over 83 and Chaiwon Youn is tied for 51st at 13-over 85.
The Matadors will tee off the final round at 8:30 a.m. from holes 6-10.
