NORTHRIDGE, CA---
As the 2017 season inches closer and closer, CSUN Baseball will be hosting its 4th Annual Bob Hiegert Golf Classic and Alumni Weekend from Jan. 29-30. Registration is open and tickets are still available for the Bob Hiegert Golf Classic.Â
The two-day event will kick off on Sunday, January 29 with the annual CSUN Baseball Alumni Game at Matador Field. The exhibition gives CSUN fans an opportunity to receive their first glimpse at the 2017 Matadors as they take on CSUN legends from years past in friendly competition. Many new faces on the CSUN Baseball team will compete in a Matador uniform for the first time while several letterwinners will return to play inside Matador Field just weeks before the start of the 2017 campaign. Batting practice will take play at 1 p.m. with first pitch slated for 2 p.m. The game is free and open to the public.Â
Following the Alumni Game, CSUN Baseball will hold an Alumni Social at Los Toros Mexican Restaurant in Chatsworth, CA at 5 p.m. The free event is open to all CSUN Baseball alumni.Â
To participate in both the Alumni Game and Alumni Social, RSVP is required.Â
The weekend will conclude on Monday, January 30 at the 4th Annual Bob Hiegert Golf Classic at Porter Valley Country Club in Northridge, CA. The golf classic is a benefit for CSUN Baseball and registration is required for the event. Check-in is scheduled for 8 a.m. and a putting contest will take place at 10:00 a.m. A shotgun start of 11:00 a.m. is scheduled for the event. After an afternoon of competition, a social hour and silent auction will be held at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m.Â
