Â
The Matadors swept a doubleheader on Saturday on a highlight-filled afternoon. In the contest, CSUN pitching fanned 19 batters, tying a school record for a game. Nolan Bumstead also hit a grand slam in the contest as the Matadors prevailed 6-0.

The Bears took the finale of the series 3-2 despite solid CSUN pitching. Andrew Weston surrendered three in the first two innings but rallied to shutout the Bears over the next three innings. Four Matador relievers combined to toss 4.0 shutout innings but the Matadors would fall by a run.
Â
After his outstanding performance on Saturday, the sophomore Rosenberg earned Big West Conference Player of the Week. In his just his second start of his career, Rosenberg struck out a career high 16 and tossed 7.2 innings allowing one hit. Only two base runners reached second base on the afternoon against the left-hander.
Â

Fred Smith is hitting .333 on the season with three RBI and he has hit safely in all eight games this season. Akitoshi has recorded a hit in seven games this season and he is batting .429 at the plate to go along with a home run, four RBI and a .515 on-base percentage.
Â
Senior right-hander Angel Rodriguez gets the starting nod at George Mason. In four relief appearances this season, Rodriguez is posting a 4.50 ERA with seven strikeouts in 6.0 innings pitched. Raven will start the opener against George Washington and Rosenberg takes to the hill on Saturday. Raven is sporting a 0.77 ERA in 11.2 innings with 13 strikeouts while Rosenberg has a 1.46 ERA in 12.1 innings to go along with a team-best 23 strikeouts.
