CSUN Men's Hoops Selected for Games on ESPN Networks

NORTHRIDGE, CA---
CSUN Men's Basketball will be featured on several broadcasts across ESPN's family of networks during the 2016-17 season, the league office announced Tuesday. In addition to having all of their three games at the DirecTV Wooden Legacy Tournament broadcast on the ESPN networks, two of the Matadors' Big West Conference home contests will be featured on ESPN3 starting with a match-up against Long Beach State on Wed., Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. inside The Matadome.Â
Along with the conference game with the 49ers, the Matadors will also host Cal Poly on Feb. 15 on ESPN3 at 7 p.m. Five other Matador games are eligible to be added to the schedule on wild card dates, which include home games against UC Davis (Jan. 14), UC Irvine (Jan. 21), Hawai'i (Feb. 4) and Cal State Fullerton (Mar. 4) along with a road contest with UC Irvine (Feb. 25).Â
All three of the Matadors' games at DirecTV Wooden Legacy Tournament will be aired on the ESPN family of networks beginning with the opening round game against Texas A&M on Thurs., Nov. 24 on ESPN3. The team will either face New Mexico or Virginia Tech on ESPN2 or ESPNU on Nov. 25 and the final game of the tournament will air on either ESPN or ESPNU on Nov. 27.Â
Also, this season CSUN will tangle with UCLA (Nov. 13) and Stanford (Nov. 15) on the national stage as both games are set to air on the Pac-12 Network.Â
After possessing a roster of four upperclassmen last season, the 2016-17 team boasts nine upperclassmen along with seven letterwinners and nine newcomers. Led by fourth-year head coach Reggie Theus, the Matadors take on Cal State Los Angeles in an exhibition game on Sat., Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. in The Matadome. CSUN officially kicks off the season on Fri., Nov. 11 at home against Pomona-Pitzer.Â
