With just over 25 minutes to go in the second half, Billingsley's shot appeared to be on line, but at the last minute, Alex Lara was able to get back to the goal line, kicking the ball away for a team save.
With 12:21 remaining, CSUN's Nicholas Grinde found himself wide open from the left side, but he couldn't send his shot accurately towards the net as the ball went wide. The Matadors turned away a UCSB corner in the 86th minute as the teams remained scoreless heading into overtime.
The Matadors recorded all three shots of the first half. Grinde took a pass from Maurico Lopez, creating a lane in front of the net. Grinde's shot was saved on the goal line by UC Santa Barbara goalie Alan Carrillo. Daniel Trejo's attempt three minutes into the second overtime was on line towards the Gauchos' net, but went wide.
