The CSUN men's and women's track and field teams wrap up indoor regular season this weekend when the Matadors travel to the University of Washington Husky Classic.

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—The CSUN men's and women's track and field teams wrap up indoor regular season this weekend when the Matadors travel to the University of Washington Husky Classic. The field events begin on Friday at 4 p.m. with the running events set for 4:30 p.m. Saturday's field events will get underway at 9 a.m. before the running races begin at 10 a.m.

On the men's side, CSUN has athletes ranked in the NCAA Division I Indoor Top 75 lists. Clint Meyer is 43rd in the shot put (59-3 1/2). Michael Merchan is 63rd in the 800m (1:50.94). The distance medley relay of Mario Ramirez, Brendan Scott, Charlie Nettles, and Merchan are ranked 63rd (10:09.42).

Courtney Robinson is the lone Matador women's competitor ranked in the NCAA Division I Indoor Top 75. She is 51st in the 60m hurdles (:8.37). Robinson ran the :8.37 at last week's New Mexico Classic in the finals of the event when she placed eighth.

With the MPSF Championships coming up on Feb. 23-24, both CSUN squads have several top marks among league entries. On the men's MPSF performance chart, Merchan is third in the 800 while Ramirez is 14th (1:53.29). Erick Loomis' 60-0 1/4 in the weight throw has him eighth among MPSF athletes. Manuel Vargus is 11th in the 5000m (15:07.39). In the 60m hurdles, Joshua Turner (:8.18) and Ben Hibbert (:8.21) are 13th and 14th respectively.

On the women's MPSF performance chart, the Matadors have three of the top shot put marks. Brandy Williams is eighth (48-11), Elena Lopez is 12th (47-5 1/4), while Jasmine Pharms (46-4 3/4) is 14th. Robinson is eighth in the 60m hurdles and 20th in the 60m (:7.61).
