NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN embarks on the program's first Big West two-game stretch as the Matadors face Hawai'i this week.

CSUN travels to face the Rainbow Wahine Thursday night. BigWest.tv will have the coverage beginning at 9 p.m. PST/7 p.m. HST.

Tia Kanoa was named Big West Conference Player of the Week on Monday. Kanoa tallied 15 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in 37 minutes of action as the Rainbow Wahine defeated UC Davis, 65-60, snapping an Aggie six-game winning streak.

UH is 5-10, 1-1 in Big West play. Makenna Woodfolk is Hawai'i's leading scorer at 12.3 points per game. She also leads the team in rebounding (5.4), steals (20), and blocks (13).

This is the 20th time that CSUN and UH are playing with CSUN leading the all-time series 10-9. The Matadors won 2-of-3 last season including a 62-57 decision in the first round of the Big West Tournament. CSUN has won six of the last seven in the series.

CSUN concludes play Saturday when the Matadors host UC Riverside. Kevin Strauss' pregame show on the CSUN Sports Network presented by Dignity Health begins at 6:50 p.m. Tip is set for 7 p.m.

The Highlanders lost 63-45 to Long Beach State last Wednesday night to fall to 6-10 on the season. 0-2 in Big West play. UCR will host UC Irvine Thursday night before heading to Northridge.

Jannon Otto is the team's leading scorer as she averages 12.7 points per game. Marina Ewodo is second on the squad in scoring at 10.6 points per game. Ewodo paces the squad in in rebounding (7.2) and blocks (33).

This the 63rd time that CSUN and UC Riverside are playing against each other. The Matadors lead the all-time series 32-30 after the teams split the season series a year ago with each team winning on their home court.Â
CSUN (7-9, 1-1 Big West) dropped a 65-61 decision to UC Irvine last Saturday in Irvine. De'Jionae Calloway led the Matadors with 15 points. Jordyn Jackson and Fluker both scored 11 points. Juliana Louis tied her season high with 13 rebounds. Louis would also score seven points.Â

Serafina Maulupe is one point away from joining the CSUN 1,000-point club. She would become the 13th Matador to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
