HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- Despite turning the ball over six times in the first 5:17 of the game, CSUN led 5-3 at the first quarter media timeout. The Matadors would hold the Rainbow Wahine to two points over the final 4:33 of the period as CSUN led 12-6.
- With a jumper at the 6:08 mark of the second quarter, Serafina Maulupe became the 13th CSUN women's basketball player to score at least 1,000 points in a career.
- 6-3 center Lauren Shymkewicz hit her first career three-pointer to key a 13-4 spurt that pushed the CSUN lead to 25-12 at the second quarter media timeout.
- After committing six turnovers in the first quarter, CSUN committed three in the second. The Matadors would end up holding Hawai'i to 17.9% shooting (5-of-28) for the first half as CSUN led 27-12 at halftime.
- The Matadors kept Hawai'i off the board for the first 3:47 of the third quarter, stretching the lead to 31-12, forcing the Rainbow Wahine to call a timeout. Hawai'i would only score three more points in the third quarter and trailed 37-18 as the quarter concluded.
- CSUN pushed the lead to 21 early in the fourth quarter. A trio of missed shots combined with turnovers helped the Rainbow Wahine chip away at the Matadors. FOR CSUN
- The fewest amount of points CSUN has given up in a game is 21 which occurred Feb. 14, 2015 against UC Santa Barbara.

- Meghann Henderson led all scorers with 12 points.
- Channon Fluker was plagued by foul trouble for the second consecutive game. She was limited to 10 minutes of action in the first half due to two fouls which she picked up in a 16-second span early in the second quarter. The 6-4 center would record her 67th career double-double as she scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
- Hawai'I went 12-of-54 for the game, 22.2%. That mark is the fifth lowest in a game by a CSUN opponent in the Division I era.

ACCORDING TO COACH JASON FLOWERS
- "Any time you can go on the road in conference is always good, especially after our game last Saturday. Coming to Hawai'i is always a tough trip. They are well coached and prepared. It wasn't pretty. For us to find a way to get it done and come out with a win is always a good thing. I thought different people stepped up at different times. Everybody got in the mix. There was a greater sense of urgency on the defensive end. We have to keep growing and getting better."
