CSUN Men 8th, Women 9th at the 2019 XC Big West Championships in Riverside

RIVERSIDE, Calif.—CSUN competed in the 2019 Big West Conference Cross Country Championships Saturday at the UC Riverside AG OPS Course.

CSUN WOMEN
Alyssa Segovia led the Matador women for the third time this year as she finished 51st with a time of 22:41.20 over the 6k course. Following her lead was sophomore Joy Bosede (64th, 23:34.10) and junior Heidi Eligio (68th, 23:41.30). As a team, the Matadors finished ninth. Cal State Fullerton won the 2019 Big West title.

CSUN MEN
Daniel Fendrich paced the squad for the first time this year with a 53rd place finish (28:31.70) on the 8k course. Following his effort was Noah Contreras (54th, 28:35.30) and James Moore (55th, 29:20.70). As a team, the Matadors finished eighth. Cal Poly placed first and took home the 2019 Big West crown.

The Matadors will enter the NCAA West Regionals on Nov. 15 in Colfax. Wash.
