HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUN used the running game to get on the board in the top of the 2nd. With runners on the corners and no outs, Babbitt stole third as Jessica Alexander came home on a throwing error from Riley Siegel, the Aggies' catcher. One out later, Babbitt stole third and advanced home on a second Siegel throwing error.
- Isabella Leon cut the Matador advantage in half when she fouled out deep enough down the right field line to plate Maddie Rojas in the bottom of the third.
- The Matadors recorded two hits off of Brooke Yanez in the top of the fourth, but stranded both runners on base when Alyssa Vazquez's shot to left was caught at the warning track by Alyse Rojas.
- Marisa Given walked to lead off the UC Davis (27-6, 2-1 Big West) fifth. Marissa Jauregi successfully sacrificed Given to second with a bunt. Maddie Rojas struck out before Jillian James struck out pinch hitter Autumn Miller for the final out of the inning.
- With two outs in the bottom of the sixth, Alexis Sotomayor singled through the right side. Meghan Bradbury worked the James count to 2-2 and fouled off two pitches. On the seventh pitch of the at-bat, Bradbury flew out to right to wrap up the inning.
- Vazquez doubled with one out in the top of the seventh. Pinch runner Alliyah Swan attempted to score on the play, but was thrown out at the plate 8-6-2 keeping the game at 2-1.
- With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Given singled down the left field line. Siegel struck out to bring up Maddie Rojas. Rojas flew out to left to conclude the game.
- In addition to her two stolen bases, Babbitt recorded two of the five CSUN hits (2-for-3). James improved to 11-8 on the year. She struck out nine and walked two.
- Yanez threw a five-hitter, striking out eight and walking two.
