NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN women's basketball coach Jason Flowers has announced the signing of Olivia Smith to a National Letter of Intent to continue her career with the Matadors.
Smith, a Las Vegas, Nev. native, was a McDonald's All-American nominee for Bishop Gorman High School. The 6-1 forward earned team MVP honors as a senior as well as being named first team All-Sunset League. Earning Bishop Gorman Defensive MVP honors as a junior, she was named 2018 Fab 48 MVP and to the 2018 Lake Powell Holiday Classic All-Tournament team. Smith shot 50% from the floor as she averaged 10 points, nine rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game as a senior.
"We are really excited about Olivia joining our program. She is a very intelligent, hardworking young woman who will contribute to our campus in a variety of ways. On the floor she will add athleticism and versatility to our roster. Her ability and willingness to defend will help raise the bar in our program. We look forward to her having a successful career."
Smith joins Carla Drennan (Willeton, Western Australia/Corpus Christi College), Deserae Falatea (Salt Lake City, Utah/East High School), and Deja Williams (Long Beach, Calif./Poly HS) in the 2019-20 CSUN recruiting class.
