Clarke Named Top 100 Draft Prospect by D1Baseball

FULL TOP 100 DRAFT PROSPECT LIST
NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN Baseball's junior outfielder Denzel Clarke has been named one of the Top 100 draft prospects in the nation, according to D1Baseball.
Originally from Pickering, Ontario, Clarke was listed at No. 82 and was the lone Big West hitter represented on the list. Overall, Clarke was one of three Big West players to be ranked in the Top 100 and the second-highest among the three. Clarke was also the third-highest ranked California hitter on the list.
Clarke was off to a hot start to the 2020 campaign before the season was canceled in March. He competed in all 15 games, making 12 starts in center field while he led the Matadors in batting average (.400), runs scored (12), home runs (3), slugging percentage (.775), on-base percentage (.529) and stolen bases (5) to go with 16 hits and nine RBI. Clarke would finish first in the Big West in on-base percentage and slugging and second in stolen bases and home runs. He also ranked third in the league in batting average, fifth in total bases (31), seventh in runs and 10th in doubles (4). Clarke's slugging and on-base percentage ranked 19th and 34th in the nation, respectively.
Over the past two seasons, Clarke has played in all 70 Matador games and has racked up 51 hits, 37 runs, 28 RBI, 26 walks, 17 stolen bases and eight home runs while batting .277 at the plate. Clarke has also registered an even .500 slugging percentage over his college career.
In April, Clarke was listed at No. 43 on D1Baseball's top outfielders in the nation list. He was the highest-ranked among all Big West outfielders.
