CSUN Cross Country Receives NCAA Public Recognition Award

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—The CSUN men's and women's cross country teams have been recognized as recipients of the NCAA Public Recognition Award, which is based on their most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rate.
The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I sports teams. The Public Recognition Award is given each year to teams with APRs in the top 10 percent of each sport. The Matadors received a perfect score of 1,000. The most recent APRs are multiyear rates based on scores from 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, and 2018-19 academic years. The Matadors
The Matadors are no stranger to academic success. Since 2015, the Matador women's cross country team has had 18 student-athletes named Academic All-Conference while the CSUN men's cross country team has had 11 student-athletes earn Academic All-Conference honors.
Including CSUN, the Big West Conference had a total of 18 teams in seven different sports receive the recognition (six men, 12 women).
