Complete 2022 Baseball Schedule
NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---Head coach Dave Serrano announced CSUN Baseball's 54-game 2022 schedule, featuring weekend road series against UCLA and Stanford as well as 18 total games against 2021 NCAA Tournament teams.
"This year's schedule will present many challenges that I feel we need to continue to take to build this baseball program," said Serrano who enters his third season at CSUN. "Along with the always tough Big West slate, we will get to compete against some traditional powerhouse programs that have many years of postseason experience and success."
Â
After playing a conference only schedule last season, the Matadors will play a challenging non-conference schedule in 2022. CSUN will face seven NCAA teams that made the postseason a year ago while 33 road games are on the docket. CSUN is scheduled to play nine games against teams from the Pac-12 Conference with eight on the road. The Matadors are also set to square off with teams from the WCC, WAC, Mountain West and Southland conferences.
Â
The 2022 season opens up with a three-game series against UCLA at Jackie Robinson Stadium beginning on Feb. 18. The Matadors kick off their home schedule versus Pacific from Feb. 25-27 in their only four-game series of the season. The next weekend, CSUN begins a 12-game road swing with Stanford, a College World Series participant in 2021, from March 4-6.
Â
CSUN continues its road trip with two more NCAA Regional teams in Grand Canyon (March 8-9) and McNeese State (March 11-13). The Matadors then return to Southern California to take on Loyola Marymount in a midweek game on March 15.
Â
Other non-conference games include home midweek games against Dixie State (March 22) and USC (April 12) and road single games at Arizona State (April 19) and San Diego State (May 4) as well as a return meeting with USC (May 3). The Matadors will also travel to Saint Mary's for a weekend series from May 19-21.
Â
Big West play kicks off in San Luis Obispo against Cal Poly on March 18, which culminates a 12-game road stretch, before the Matadors open up their home conference schedule with Long Beach State from March 25-27.
Â
CSUN will head to Big West reigning champion UC Irvine on April 1 for another three-game series while other road series include UC Riverside (April 14-16), Cal State Fullerton (April 22-24) and Hawai'i (May 14-16).
Â
The Matadors are scheduled to host UC Santa Barbara (April 8-10), CSU Bakersfield (April 29-May 1), UC Davis (May 6-8) and UC San Diego (May 26-28) during league play.
