Aguilar & Grey Named Preseason All-Conference; CSUN Picked Fifth

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN is ranked fifth in the preseason Big West Conference men's soccer poll that was released Wednesday morning.

The Matadors received 62 points as UC Santa Barbara and UC Davis both earned 89 points and three first-place votes to tie for first. UC Irvine was awarded one first-place vote which resulted in 72 points and third. Cal State Fullerton also received a first-place vote and 65 points for fourth.

CSUN is followed by Sacramento State (42), UC Riverside (39), Cal Poly (37, 1 first-place vote), UC San Diego (30), and CSU Bakersfield (25, 1 first-place vote).

Giovanni Aguilar and Omar Grey were both selected to the Big West's Preseason All-Conference Team. Aguilar is a two-time honorable mention All-Conference selection while Grey scored two goals and had one assist during the 2019 season.
The Matadors host San Diego Saturday night in a 6 p.m. exhibition match. The regular season begins Aug. 26 at San Diego State before the home opener on Aug. 28 against Pacific.
